Skinner was a miner and carpenter in a California mining camp in Tuolumne, California (post office Jacksonville, which matches the info on the front of the CDV) In the 1866 census he was listed as a carpenter in Stevens' Bar (probably The Madelon gold mine) in Tuolumne Co. His info on Ancestry says he
